The sunny afternoon of the 28th of march suddenly felt a cool breeze of an experienced mentor who sought to simplify the lives of all students by answering their basic questions and easing their apprehensions regarding mathematics. Mr. Rajendra Dubey aka Dubey sir, the mentor and founder of DIPS Academy, is a profound teacher of mathematics who has been catering to the needs of mathematics lovers for more than 25 years now. His unique style of approaching concepts makes him stand out among all. During the seminar, he discussed how the worldwide pandemic affected the pedagogical method and stymied the holistic metamorphosis of students. He encouraged the students to fill up the void created in these two years through interpersonal techniques and engaging with teachers personally. His philosophical bent of mind summed up with his sheer interest in mathematics provided a different and wider dimension of mathematics for students. He motivated the students to acknowledge their potential and advised them to aim for the highest pedestal. Success is proportional to labor, intelligence and perseverance were his ultimate mantra. He discussed the statistics of students pursuing higher studies in mathematics and how the data shrinks as the subject complicates. He advised the students to learn with patience. Not a staunch believer in time management himself, he advised everyone not to be one also. He concluded the seminar by introducing the syllabus of IIT JAM and the various marking scheme associated with it. In the end, the students asked different questions which were gracefully answered by him. The vote of thanks delivered by Manisha was followed by delivering a small token of appreciation to the guest speaker by the department teachers. The first and the last offline seminar for the session ended on a promising note.
