What is M.Sc. Statistics?
Master of Science in statistics or M.Sc. Statistics is a postgraduate statistics course. It is the study of the collections, organization, and interpretation of data. It contends with all aspects of course, including the planning of data collection in terms of the design of surveys and experiments. This course aims to train you to solve real-world statistical problems.
Why should one choose M.Sc. Statistics?
A candidate with M.Sc. Statistics has the skills to work directly with the government and help in monitoring and controlling problems like inflation.

Eligibility
To pursue M.Sc. in Statistics :
The candidate must have completed a B.Sc. honors degree in Statistics or Mathematics or any equivalent degree in Mathematics with Computer Applications along with Statistics as one of the papers.
the minimum aggregate score of 60% at the level of graduation. Few universities also take an entrance exam. Students are selected based on their academic record, written exam, and personal interview.

Degree Offered- M.Sc. in Applied Statistics and Informatics
Eligibility- Bachelor’s degree with either Mathematics or Statistics as a subject for at least two years or four semesters.
Admission Process- Through Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM).
3. IIT KANPUR

Eligibility- Statistics for at least two years/four semesters.

4. NMIMS UNIVERSITY
Degree Offered- M.Sc. Statistics
Eligibility- Candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or a minimum CGPA of 3 out of 4 or equivalent.
Admission Process- Students satisfying the eligibility criteria must undergo a two-stage selection procedure.
Stage 1 - The eligible candidates will appear for a written test conducted by the Department of Statistics at NMIMS Campus, Mumbai.
Stage 2- The candidates will be shortlisted for the personal interview based on the written test's performance. The personal interview will be conducted at NMIMS Campus Mumbai.
The merit list of the candidates eligible for admission, based on the candidates' two-stage performance, will be displayed as per criteria laid down by the University.
5. INDIAN STATISTICAL INSTITUTE (ISI)
Degrees Offered- Master of Statistics [M Stat]
Eligibility- To be eligible for admission to this program, an applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree of three or more years’ duration, in any discipline.
Admission Process- Students with B Stat (Hons) degrees from ISI are offered direct admission to this program without any selection test or interview.
The written admission test is designed to assess competence in the theory and methods of Statistics and comprehension in Mathematics, and has two parts:
multiple-choice questions in Statistics and Mathematics at the undergraduate level in the first part.
short-answer questions in Statistics and Mathematics at the undergraduate level in the second part.
6. BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY ( BHU)
Degree Offered- M.Sc. Statistics
Eligibility- Any science graduate under 10+2+3 pattern securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and having statistics as one of the subjects at the UG level. A candidate must also have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at the graduate level.
Admission Process- Through Banaras Hindu University Postgraduate Entrance Test (BHU PET).
7. ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY (AMU)
Degree Offered- M.Sc. Statistics
Eligibility- B.Sc. / B.A. (Hons.) or B.Sc. / B.A. with Statistics or Mathematics as Main / Major subject with not less than 55% marks in aggregate OR B.Sc. / B.A. or B.Sc. (Hons.) / B.A. (Hons.) or it's equivalent with Statistics or Mathematics as one of the subjects with not less than 55% marks in aggregate.
Admission Process- Through AMU Entrance Exam M.Sc. (Statistics)/ Departmental Test.
